Qualifications and Guidelines for Grant Applications

Before writing a Proposal, please read carefully to ensure that you meet the required qualifications.

This page consists of 2 parts: Qualifications, and Guidelines on Proposal Preparation. You will be asked to certify that you meet all the Qualification criteria at the top of your proposal.

Part I: Qualifications 

A school submitting a Grant application must certify the following. [Please provide a signed document that states that the following requirements are met.Please click here to download and print this as a Form, to be signed.]
    1. That your school has a healthy teacher body that functions in close cooperation.
    2. That your school has a formal volunteer program involving students and teachers. As part of this program, we strongly suggest that each child plant and nurture one tree each year, to be eventually donated to a park or for planting in a forest.
    3. That your school participates in this Foundation's ChitraCar video-on-wheels video education program.
    4. That your school has at least one or more teachers who participate or will participate in this Foundation's Teachers' Center activities.
    5. That your school is a participant (or commits to be) in the Foundation-sponsored Gender Sensitivity program, lead by Dr. Kalamkar of Jagruti school, Ranpise Nagar, Akola; and
    6. That your school puts strong emphasis on physical health through vigorous sports for boys AND girls.

Part II: Guidelines on Proposal Writing 

Proposal Submission Deadline:  15 April, 2008;

Decisions announced:  1 June 2008;

Funding to start: Immediate. Payments will be made monthly based on expenses. 

Proposals must conform with the Schools Initiative Program and be in a specific format. The Program describes in detail the objectives of the Foundation with regard to improving schools and activities for which funds may be provided. Please click here for a description of the Program. Please read the Program carefully. We recommend that you keep a printed copy of the Program with you as you develop your ideas for a proposal. The Proposal Format can be found by clicking here.

The content of the proposals must also conform to the Format provided here. Please adhere strictly to this format, and provide all requested information. Proposals that do not provide all required information may be rejected before further consideration.
