Vishal Himalaya Foundation Trust is a regional non-government organization (NGO) located in Akola, India.  The organization is engaged in projects in villages, schools, vocational education, environment, and other areas.

The PGM will be based in Akola, and work from VHFT office in Akola. The job includes serious field work and travel - local within Akola, Vidarbha, within India, and possibly international.  He/she would be responsible for carrying out the mission of VHF. He/she will report to VHF Akola Trustees, and would be directed by Dr. Yogi and Eva Agrawal of VHF-US from the United States. While most of his/her work will involve projects management and related field work, his/her responsibilities will include:

• Managing all financial planning, expenditures, and record-keeping.
• Joint Planning and execution, with VHF-US, of all projects.
• Working with people at all levels – officials, VHFT staff, to villagers.
• Preparing detailed Work Plans of each VHF project jointly with VHF-US.
• Assisting in fundraising efforts to carry out VHF activities in Akola, India

• Strong oral and written communication skills in Marati, Hindi and English
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with various communities such as villagers, teaching establishment, government officials
• Proven ability to plan, manage and execute project plans
• Demonstrated analytic ability, leadership and organizational skills
• Demonstrated creative approaches to problem solving

• Akola resident or resident of Vidarbha, or willing to move to Akola
• MSW or MS in social science or Engineer with NGO experience
• Experience in complete project management – initiation to completion
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Manager’s role, preferably with a non-profit.
• IT training and understanding
